I decided that I was going to buy a new blanket/coverlet for the bed. Nick doesn't care for the comforter and I didn't care for the old blanket we were using. My original idea was to purchase a white coverlet and use our existing greenish tan sheets. The idea was to make it look hotel like with some fun textured pillows etc. At some point, I would have re-painted the room to a darker shade of the sheet color.
I went to the discount store where we'd purchased our sheet and try to find a matching set. I ended up with a similar set, just more gold than green. I purchase coldish/green curtains to match both sets. Then I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond to buy a white coverlet. Well, they cost a lot more than I'd anticipated...so I did some re-thinking. Meanwhile I found this coverlet at almost half off! I bought the red pillow cover and gold decorative pillow also on deep discount!
All and all, I was very happy to find out that everything matched nicely. I moved the bed around, rearranged the end tables, added pictures to the wall. The only other item I purchased, is the flower decorations sitting on the dresser. I took a bunch of pictures form different angles so you could see the layout of the room.
Close-up of coverlet.
His and her closets to the left and right of the bed. (My closet door pictured her. Nick's closet door pictured in the first picture.)
View from the bed. The door to the left leads to the hallway. The door straight ahead leads to the master bath. There is a door to the right that leads to the loft.

Very pretty Leslie! I love how everything goes together, even the picture on the wall. You'll like the coverlet/quilt a lot better than a comforter, it doesn't get wrinkled and always looks nice. You can always add blankets underneath.
It looks really nice, Leslie. I can't sleep under a comforter, and a coverlet is so much easier to get looking nice. Good choice. It's fun to put things together and make a room look nice with what you can find on sale or whatever. Great job.
