Little Brown Bear

Mom got Cole a CD with 10 episodes of "Little Brown Bear"--a french cartoon that was translated into English (British).  It's only 30 minutes long, so each episode with intro music and credits is only 3 minutes long.  The episodes are based on a book series and it looks like each episode is literaly one book.  There's some narration at the beginning and the end.  Cole is really enjoying watching these episodes (over and over again).  I'm trying to figure out what he likes about them.  My hypothesis (like that I used that word?) is that he likes the 'book' like format.  Also, the storyline is very simple and straight forward.  The main characters are a mom, a dad and a little boy--so very easy for Cole to relate with. The stories are about common daily activities (sleeping, making friends, climbing on rocks, playing in the yard, shoping, accidents etc), so again things that Cole understands.

Recently, we've been watching them while Cole is taking his nebulizer treatments.  As far as Cole understands (and it's fine by me!) TV is only to be watch in conjunction with nebulizer treatments.  If he refuses the treatment...TV gets turnned off...works every time!  Lately, since his treatments have been cut in half, he's not done watching TV before the treatment is over.  The last few nights he's refused to let me take the mask off of him even though he knows and I know that the treatment is over!!!  So I've negotiate with him, one more Little Brown Bear episode at the end of each treatment--it's his little treat and he loves it! (and he doesn't complain when it is over)
