Thought I'd add a quick few updates on Cole. Usually, I do these each month, but after being gone for 10 days, it's amazing how many new things you notice!
First, Cole has added colors to his vocabulary. Things are not just cars (aka "MumMrum" as Cole would say), they are now "Red" "MumMrum" or "B'ue" "MumMrum" or "'ellow" "MumMrum" or "G'een" "MumMrum". In fact, the other day we were talking about his little toy jeep and he pointed to the door and said "(y)ellow (j)eep door"!
He speaks mainly in two word sentences now. He usually adds a discriptive word, like color, or 'mama' or 'dada' as in this is mama's thing or dada's thing. He now has a few sentences that are in pure baby speak, but that we understand. He has a phrase for "where is it?" (sounds like "what-eesee"). He also has a phrase for "what's this?" Do not even ask me to try to spell that one...it sounds nothing like it, but it is what he says everytime he points to something. (added later: I believe he says "DissudDiss").
If he could choose how to spend his day, he would spend it in Dad's barn with a real (small) hammer pounding fake nails into the wooden floor. He is an outdoor boy through and through, and he is fasinated by his Dad's tools.
Usually, the mintue we get home Cole says "outside" and stands by the back door (just like Isa does when she wants out!). Once outside, he looks around for his dada or heads straight for the barn.
He has also discovered the art of cleaning up! Yeah, don't know how we got so lucky, but this kid actually picks up after himself! Now, all I have to say is "clean up time" and he starts picking up his toys (with some help of course!). Although, I was shocked the other day, when he had just stared playing with his duplos and I called him to the window to see his dad---He actually put his duplos away before coming!!
