Mama count

Recently Cole's gotten into the habit of running away from me when it's time to change him, put his shoes on, change his diaper, leave the house...you name it.  I usually give him a few minutes to cooperate and then I track him down and make him do it.  Sometimes, mainly to call myself down, I'll tell him I'm counting to three and then he needs to do X.  Well, clearly that hasn't been working, so i had abandoned that tactic and was trying to come up with a different approach, when the same thing happened.  I was trying to get Cole dressed, but he ran and hit behind the rocking chair (his usual hiding spot), this time I did not count to three, but I did ask him twice to come of and join me.  After he ignored me both times, I was getting ready to come after him, when he said "Mama-count-three".  WHAT!  Was he mocking me?  I told him I'd count to three, but he'd better come when I said three.  Sure enough, as soon as I was finished counting, he got up and walked right over to me and sat in my lap to get dressed. (All I can say is that this kid thoroughly cracks me up!)

Lol! Counting to three worked for me. Most of the time. For some reason though my kids get VERY upset if I actually say 3. I have to stop at 2 or 2 and a half. And it does keep me from getting too upset.

LoL! Cole thinks counting to three, means he doesn't have to do anything until I say "three". Yesterday, I started counting and for "1,2" he actually ran away from the toy he needed to pick up. Then he stopped abrubtly when he realized "3" was coming next...so he ran back to his toy, paused, as soon as I said "three" he said "ok" and picked up his toy!

Oh...will I have my hands full with this kid:-)
