Decorating for Christmas

We spent Saturday morning at the tree farm looking for the perfect tree.  In the end, we purchased this already cut tree from the tree farm.  They cut down some of their nicest trees and put them out for sale for the same price as choosing a tree from the farm.  We looked high and low, but couldn't find anything we liked better. Cole was cracking us up the whole time.  He kept finding trees that were a few inches taller than him: "this one's a BIG tree!".  I one point, I grabbed a measuring stick to check out some of the trees.  Cole--not to be left out--picked up a stick and started measuring trees also:-)

That night we worked on getting the ornaments up on the tree.  Nick did the lights, then I handed ornaments to Cole.  Cole put up all the ornaments except the fragile ones.  Cole took his job very seriously! (we did have to rearrange a few that had clustered together and a few that were hanging from lights, other ornaments, etc...)

This red plane is the ornament that Cole picked out for himself this year.

Since we have more room now, we got several boxes of decorations from Nick's parents that they no longer use.  This sleigh and stuffed animals was one of the things we got from them.

Here's the finished product.  The tree skirt was made by my mother.  She also made our three stockings.
