Weekend around the house

This was definitly not an exciting weekend, but we did make some progress around the house.  Mainly, we got the TV mounted--which is allways a huge task!  We also did quite a bit of shopping--mostly getting ideas--not so much buying.  We need a new computer desk and bookshelves.  It's hard to find just the right desk.  We don't want an executive one and the armoire all-in-one-piece may be a little too small and the modern no-drawers no-cabinets is not practical! We stopped in an Amish furniture place--and drooled a little over the nice furniture--still didn't find what we wanted and the price tag was a little much for us:-)  Cole did have a fun time on the various rocking horse they had out on display.  The following day, when we told Cole we were looking at furniture, he said: "are we going to the place with the horses?".

Nick also test drove a car--I know, we were all over the place this weekend!  We are definitly getting rid of the pontiac.  We wanted to long before the move, but knew we had to see how the move finances shook out before making any major purchases.  I'm guessing within a month or so, we'll have something new for Nick.

We did buy a flat screen monitor for the computer and a rug for the living room and a new shower head for our shower (yes, our first plumbing repair in the new house).  I did the usual shoping at Walmart, but I purchased fresh produce and meats at the upscale Kroger next to our house.  I've decided that this Kroger is upscale based on the fact that Babybel cheese and Laughing Cow cheese is not "gourmet" enough to be in the fancy cheese section--they put them in the regular section next to Kraft american cheese! (made me smile)

So, there's an update on our not so exciting weekend!

Sounds like you got a lot done. Looking forward to seeing pictures! Did you snap any of Cole on the "horses"?
