Our trip to vegas

Cole came with me on a business retreat to Las Vegas. Dad flew in from WA to babysit. It was a quick 4 day trip and a long flight to and from, but I was very please with how well Cole handle it. I kept Cole's schedule on eastern time, which meant we were 3 hours off from Dad's schedule. Cole was in bed by 7ish and up by 4ish. Cole and I had a hard time entertaining ourselves in the Hotel from 4-8 am. We took a stroller ride the first day, but since the casino is open all night...the 4am walkabout is a little scary. Thank goodness the bathroom was large! Since we spent part of the time playing in there (we did take a bath the first day, but the other times we just played on a blanket on the floor). I think Cole really liked the echo in the large bathroom, b/c he was "talking" non-stop:-)
Cole did a wonderful job on our 4 hour flight out to Vegas. He made fast friends with my co-worker and her husband who were traveling with me (thank goodness for extra pairs of hands!). He was awake most of the time and kept some of the other passengers entertained. At one point he was getting a little fussy and I suspected it was because he was bored, so I lifted his head up above the seat so he could scan the whole plane. That kept his interest for a while (and the interest of some of the passengers:-). He got lots of compliments as we exited the plane--that's my boy!
Cole spent his days with Pop Pop in the hotel room...sorry Pops no pictures with you in it. But here's a picture of Cole enjoying himself on the hotel bed. He just started rolling over from his back to his side (I think you can kind of see in this picture that he is on his side). He slept really well in the hotel (9 1/2 and 9 hours the last 2 nights!)
Cole was a trooper, he went with us all over the place. The first night we walked down to the Bellagio and checked out the fountain show. We were a little lost the first day and ended up walking through the casino on the ground floor (later we found a better route)--I had to laugh when Cole did a double take and looked wide eyed at all the slot machines:-) I believe his words were "whoooooo". The next day we had dinner at an Italian place in our hotel and the last night we ate at one of Wolfgang Puck's restaurants..it looks like we are outside, but in fact we are inside, the ceiling is painted to look like sky.

Well it sure looks like Cole's first business trip was a huge success. How neat that you got to skip ahead in some of the lines. And also cool that Gregg was able to come spend time with Cole.

It was very nice. Just a little bit of extra consideration from the airlines, hotel etc. made all the difference.

I'm the one who used the ear plugs. I think the ear plugs are for 1 year old and older. So, I may use them on Cole eventually, but for now he doesn't have any trouble with his ears on the flight. I found the ear plugs on www.onestepahead.com--they have all sorts of baby gaget things. I have a LOT of difficulty with pressure and my ears...so these were a life saver, wish I had discovered them sooner.
