Trust

I have to share this cute story about Cole...

Yesterday, we were pulling out of the Kroger parking lot (one street over from our neighborhood).  It was 5PM and making a left hand turn at this time of day can be tricky, which is why I prefer to make several right hand turns and go the loooonnnnng way home.  Well, the last time I turned right out of Kroger, Cole was EXTREMELY upset and yelled at me to turn around because we were going the wrong way.  Each right hand turn I took...the angrier he got.  Finally, I made one last right hand turn onto our street and suddenly Cole was speechless.  Fast forward to yesterday....

I decided to make a right hand turn. Cole immediately questions my decision.  I tell him that we are going the long way home.  Cole: "Oh, yes.  This time, Mommy, I'm going to TRUST you. I am not going to complain.  Just FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS and go straight, Mommy.  I will get us home!"  Oh, boy was I laughing inside.  I was glad that he was "trusting" me, but here he was still trying to give me directions.  (Then I pondered...Isn't this how we "trust" God.  "I'm going to trust you, God, but just do it THIS way"....)

I totally agree! We have a funny way of trusting sometimes. :-)

Kids do the funniest things. I put Amy in time out for opening the pantry without permission and as soon as she was out of time out I turned around and found her putting her doll in the same spot in time out and she was scolding her doll for opening the pantry. LOL! She's a mini me!!!!
