Happy 11 Months!

So, this post is a little over due, but better late than never. Here's a quick run down of Cole's accomplishments at 11 months.

Eating: Yum, yum. He is eating mainly finger foods, although I still have frozen purees in the fridge we are working on. We switch his schedule to breakfast at 7am, morning snack at 9am, lunch at noon, afternoon snack at 3pm, dinner at 5pm and snack before bed at 7pm. Some foods that we have introduced this month: cherries, white beans, rutabaga, beef.

Toys: He loves reading his books, especially the ones with flaps. He loves reading his doggy book. He will point to each dog on every page...so cute:-) He can stack rings, no problem. He knows how to stack his mega blocks. He can help build a tower with boxes. He likes playing in his play tent. He likes pushing big trucks around. His baby toys...well...not so interesting anymore. The exercauser was packed away along with his swing set.

Skills: He is crawling like a pro. He loves crawling up the stairs...coming down takes a little more coaxing. He doesn't think it's fair for us to put the stair gate up:-) He likes going down the slide at the park and, of course, playing in the swing.

Signing: His signing vocabulary just keeps growing. It's hard to keep up with him! He can now sign: cereal/finger food and duck. That now adds up to nine signs! He now recognizes the signs: gentle and bite, which makes a total of 5 signs he recognizes but doesn't produce. We have started to work on the signs "bite" and "hurt" b/c he has been biting his friends at school :-( So far, working on those signs has really helped. Especially, since he knows the sign "gentle". He thinks "gentle" means pet, since we've taught him the sign in relationship to Isa. So, now he "pets" his friends at school instead of biting them! Too cute:-)

Talking: He continues to vocalize different sounds. He will "talk" to himself as he reads a book. He will imitate speech with made up sounds. I think we will have quite a talker on our hands.

Health: He weighs in at 20 1/2 lb according to the doctors office. I realize in my older posts I had him at 201/2 lbs...I think my scale is off by 1lb. He had tubes put in his ears earlier this month, then he had pneumonia, so it's been a rough month. But, he is doing much better now. Of course, those molars just keep things interesting!
