Happy Anniversary

Nick and I celebrated our anniversary yesterday. Thanks to Grammy and Grampy, who watched Cole, we were able to enjoy a nice relaxing evening. We went to one of our favorite summer restaurant spots. We recently discovered that you have to be over 21to sit outside, so that means no Cole, which means its a "date" only activity for us. Just makes it more special:-)
Cole did well with Grammy and Grampy at home. He did give them a little trouble when it came to going to bed. Not sure what his problem was. We initially thought that maybe I should have left more milk for him, but he slept through the night and I had to wake him up this morning! (this never happens!) So, I'm pretty sure, milk was not the issue:-) He may have been off his routine and just having a rougher night. It's not uncommon for him to fuss before going to bed. He is really doing a good job learning how to put himself to sleep. He rarely falls asleep while nursing or falls asleep on me anymore, so he is having to learn to fall asleep in his bed. He is doing such a good job! And, I'm learning to distinguish between his cries of "my leg is stuck", "my pacifier is on the floor" vs. "I'm talking myself to sleep". He does do some really funny things in bed. Once I caught him banging his head against his balled up blanket over and over again as he was moaning himself to sleep. I've caught him reaching for the books on the table near his bed and falling alseep on top of a book. I've had to dismantle the wall lamp, because he kept playing with the cord (scary!). Basically anything within reach is fair game! I've also seen his pacifier end up under the changing table on the other side of the room--no idea how he manages to throw it so far!
Just this morning, as I was dropping him off, the daycare teachers told me that yesterday he was propelling himslef forward in the baby swing and making faces and laughing like he was on a roller coaster! Too Cute! (which I'd been there:-)
